Positive Neuroplasticity:
Helping the Brain Learn from the Good
Practical, neuroscience-informed education for recovery professionals and chronic symptom communities.
What if positive experiences weren't simply the reward at the end of recovery, but something we could deliberately practice along the way?
I'm Simone Holderbach, a Neuroplastic Symptom Recovery Coach, educator, and founder of mindbodyJOY. My work explores what I call positive neuroplasticity: how we can train attention toward experiences of safety, ease, connection, pleasure, and joy, and help the brain learn from them.
Through guest workshops and experiential education, I translate positive affect research and pain neuroscience into practical skills that can support chronic symptom recovery and help people move beyond symptom management toward fuller participation in life.
Workshop Topics
When Joy Is Too Big a Leap
Positive Affect Training in Neuroplastic Symptom Recovery
For practitioners and recovery professionals.
Why can positive experiences sometimes feel inaccessible, overwhelming, or even threatening? This workshop explores nervous system capacity, different forms of positive affect, and practical ways to match and titrate experiences so they are more accessible.
Positive Neuroplasticity: From Threat-Scanning to Safety-Building
A Practical Workshop in Attention Training and Positive Affect
For chronic symptom recovery communities.
An accessible, experiential introduction to glimmers, savoring, attention training, and helping small positive experiences register. Participants learn simple practices they can incorporate into everyday life alongside their existing recovery work.
Beyond Symptom Reduction
Connection, Positive Affect, and Life Reconstruction
For practitioner groups and recovery programs.
Symptom reduction and rebuilding a meaningful life are related, but they are not the same task. This topic explores how reconnecting with curiosity, creativity, relationships, play, and personal meaning can become part of recovery.
All sessions/trainings can be customized and tailored to your audience.
