About the founder
My name is Simone Holderbach
I founded mindbodyJOY because I saw how many people living with chronic symptoms felt stuck in survival mode, and how joy, play, and creativity often felt out of reach. I wanted to create a space where healing could feel lighter, and where joy feels possible and accessible again, even when symptoms are still present.

A short Bio
Simone Holderbach is a neurology-informed manual therapist, neuroplastic symptom recovery coach, and the founder of mindbodyJOY — a new, first-of-its-kind community dedicated to helping people living with chronic symptoms reconnect with joy, play, and creativity as a crucial part of their healing journey.
For well over a decade, Simone has supported clients navigating complex and chronic pain conditions through her clinic, Eastside Bodywork in Bellevue, WA, and more recently, her chronic pain coaching practice, The MindBody Approach. Her unique approach blends her hands-on expertise with the latest advances in pain neuroscience, nervous system education, and evidence-based treatment methods — helping people not only recover from their symptoms but also retrain the brain’s role in processing pain.
After navigating neuroplastic symptoms with her teenage sons and recognizing the limitations of traditional medicine, Simone dove deep into the science of psychophysiologic disorders, chronic pain recovery, and nervous system healing. She is certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, trained in Emotional Awareness & Expression techniques, and integrates brain-based tools, mindfulness, and trauma-informed coaching into her work. She has also trained with Prof. Lorimer Moseley, Dr. Howard Schubiner, and other leading experts in pain neuroscience and mindbody medicine, weaving their insights into her multidisciplinary approach.
Through mindbodyJOY, Simone brings her passion for neuroscience, creativity, and community together — making joy feel possible and accessible again for people living with chronic symptoms. Members explore bite-sized, actionable “joy experiments,” join live weekly sessions designed to spark creativity and connection, and receive ongoing support from a vibrant, trauma-informed community. It’s a gentle, science-backed pathway to rewiring the brain, regulating the nervous system, and rediscovering what makes life feel good.
Endlessly curious and a lifelong learner, Simone continues to explore the intersection of neuroscience, positive psychology, and healing — always seeking new ways to help people feel more alive, more connected, and more at ease in their bodies.
